How we collect, use and protect the personal information you share with us.

Status of this document
DraftIndicative copy, still with review. It describes how we intend to work and is not yet a binding statement — email hello@bitsofbytes.co.nz with any question in the meantime.
Clause 1.Information we collect
We collect only the information you choose to give us — typically your name, company, email address and the project details you submit through our contact form. This site carries no advertising trackers and no analytics, and we do not sell your data.
Clause 2.How we use it
Contact information is used solely to respond to your enquiry and, where an engagement follows, to administer that engagement. Project details you share are treated as confidential. We do not sell your information or pass it to anyone beyond the service named below.
Clause 3.How the contact form reaches us
This site is static and has no server of ours behind it. An enquiry submitted through the contact form is transmitted to Web3Forms, a form service that delivers it to our inbox, so what you type is handled on that service's servers — outside New Zealand — before it reaches us. Emailing hello@bitsofbytes.co.nz directly avoids that step.
Clause 4.Client data
During an engagement we may access systems or data belonging to your organisation. That access is limited to what the work requires, governed by the agreement between us, and revoked at handover.
Clause 5.Storage and retention
Once an enquiry reaches us it is stored with reputable cloud providers in Australia or New Zealand, as is anything else we hold about you. Enquiry records are retained for two years unless you ask us to remove them sooner.
Clause 6.Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you. Write to hello@bitsofbytes.co.nz and we will respond within 20 working days.
Clause 7.Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and, where an engagement is active, notify you directly.
